License & Copyright
All journals of Digital Intelligence Press Limited apply the Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license to published articles. Under this license, authors retain ownership of the copyright for their content, but they allow anyone to download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute and/or copy the content as long as the original authors and source are cited. Appropriate attribution can be provided by simply citing the original article.
Peer Review Process
All journals published by Digital Intelligence Press Limited operate under a strict double-blind peer review model. Neither the reviewers nor the authors know each other’s identities throughout the review process. This applies to all submissions, including those for special issues.
The final decision on whether a submission is accepted for publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief.
How peer review works
-
Initial submission & prescreen – Once the author submits a manuscript for review, it is prescreened by the Editorial Office. Staff check whether it meets technical requirements for submission and whether it aligns with the journal’s aims and scope.
-
Editor-in-Chief assessment – The Editor-in-Chief evaluates the manuscript for alignment with the journal’s scope, methodological rigour, and overall readability. The Editor-in-Chief may make an immediate decision (e.g., reject) at this stage.
-
Assignment to an Associate Editor – The Editor-in-Chief assigns the manuscript to an Associate Editor (or Guest Editor, for special issues) based on the research field.
-
Suitability check – The Associate Editor assesses the manuscript for suitability for double-blind peer review and may recommend an immediate rejection to the Editor-in-Chief.
-
Double-blind reviewer invitation – The Associate Editor invites a minimum of two anonymous external reviewers.
-
Double-blind means: Reviewers do not know the names or affiliations of the authors, and authors do not know who reviewed their manuscript.
-
Authors must ensure their manuscript is fully anonymised before submission (no author names, affiliations, or self-identifying references).
-
Reviewers are also anonymous to each other.
-
-
Review reports & recommendation – After receiving at least two reports, the Associate Editor makes a recommendation. If the reviews differ widely, an additional reviewer may be invited.
-
Final decision – The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on the Associate Editor’s recommendation and their own assessment: reject, major revision, minor revision, or accept.
-
Revision and final check – If the article is rejected or returned for revision, corresponding authors receive the reviewers’ comments (anonymised). A final check by the Editor-in-Chief is required before acceptance. Once accepted, the editorial office checks that the paper is ready for production.
-
Production & fees – When the production team receives the accepted article, the corresponding author is contacted by email to sign a publication licence and pay Article Processing Charges (APCs).
-
Proof approval – The corresponding author receives an email for approval before typesetting. Proofs must be returned within 5 working days.
Plagiarism Detection
Reuse of words must be kept to a minimum, credited, or quoted in the text, and all sources must be cited. Digital Intelligence Press Limited uses Similarity Check service provided by Crossref and powered by iThenticate. A text similarity below 20% is acceptable. The system compares manuscripts with both a web repository and the Crossref database.
Publication Fees
To provide free access to readers and to cover costs of peer review, copyediting, typesetting, long-term archiving, and journal management, authors or their institutions pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) after acceptance. We do not charge a submission fee – rejected articles incur no cost.
The APC for each journal is clearly displayed on its homepage.
Services covered by the APC include:
-
Editorial Screening – initial technical and ethical checks
-
Editorial Operations – management of the double-blind peer review process
-
Article Production – typesetting and XML structuring
-
Proofreading – author correspondence for final text approval
-
Editorial Quality Assurance – final check of manuscript and review process
-
Journal Development – author, editor, and reviewer support; indexing; promotion
-
Technology teams – maintenance of submission and production systems
Article Processing Charges (APCs) List
APCs vary by journal. Please refer to the specific journal’s homepage for current pricing.
Note: Prices quoted do not include any value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), or other sales taxes. Tax may be charged where required by law.
Discounts and Waivers
Digital Intelligence Press Limited operates a transparent waiver policy. Automatic APCs waivers and discounts are given to authors from low-to-middle income countries.
Waivers and Discounts List
An automatic 50% waiver is provided for manuscripts where the corresponding author is based in any country on our Waivers and Discounts List. (Contact info@digitalintelligencepress.com for the current list.)
Refund Policy
To prevent double-charging, a full refund of the APC will be given if other funding is later used for the same article. APCs are otherwise non-refundable once publishing services have been provided. Retractions due to author error or misconduct do not qualify for a refund.
